Welcome to
Fiesta San Antonio

The Texas Cavaliers feature flower-adorned florets, marching bands, live music. Whether you're a fan of traditional Texan music or simply love live performances, The Texas Cavaliers River parade is perfect place to be.
This one-of-a-kind parade started in 1941 after a group of Texas Cavaliers witnessed boats and barges decorated with flowers in the “floating gardens” of Mexico City.
This coincided with the San Antonio River bend restoration, and the Texas Cavaliers decided to bring this unique experience to our city.
This years parade will be on April 28 from 7 PM - 9 PM

Battle of Flowers

In 1891 a group of citizens decided to honor the heroes of the Alamo and Battle of San Jacinto with a Battle of Flowers. The first parade had horse-drawn carriages, bicycles decorated with fresh flowers and floats carrying children dressed as flowers. The Belknap Rifles represented the military.
Since 1891, the Battle of Flowers Parade has been the pinnacle of San Antonio’s Fiesta celebration. It is where Fiesta began 134 years ago when a group of civic-minded women conceived the idea of a parade in front of The Alamo to honor the heroes that fought for Texas independence. A cornerstone of Fiesta events, the parade continues to be organized and produced by women, all volunteers, who honor the legacy of their forebears. This year Battle of Flowers will be on Friday May 2.
